To make Greek coffee the traditional way, you'll need more than just the right blend. Explore our range of accessories to perfect your brewing ritual.

  • Greek coffee pots (briki)

A briki is essential for brewing Greek coffee correctly. This small, narrow pot allows for slow brewing over low heat, helping to create the rich, crema-like kaïmaki that defines a great cup of Greek coffee.

Choose from our range of brikis made of copper for superior heat conduction and an authentic brewing experience or enamel for durability and a smooth, easy-to-clean surface.

  • Greek coffee cups

Greek coffee is traditionally served in small demitasse cups, allowing you to sip slowly and enjoy every drop. Our selection of beautiful Greek coffee cups is made for sipping Greek coffee, ensuring an authentic experience every time. Shop our briki and cup sets for a complete setup.

FAQs

Is Greek coffee stronger than espresso?

Greek coffee has a bold, intense flavour but contains less caffeine than espresso due to its slow brewing process and unfiltered nature. It is strong in taste but not as highly concentrated in caffeine as an espresso shot.

For a truly caffeine-free option, Greek decaf coffee offers the same rich flavour and traditional brewing experience — just without the buzz.

What is the difference between Greek coffee and Turkish coffee?

Greek coffee and Turkish coffee are both strong, finely ground brews made in a small pot. The key difference is in the brewing method and serving style:

  • Greek coffee is typically roasted lighter for a smoother, nuttier flavour and brewed in a pot with a wider opening, allowing for a thicker foam layer.
  • Turkish coffee is often brewed in a narrow-necked pot (cezve), trapping more foam inside, which is not always served with the coffee itself. Turkish coffee sometimes includes spices like cinnamon.

Do you put milk in Greek coffee?

No, it is traditionally served black, without milk. Instead, sugar is added during brewing to achieve different levels of sweetness: sketos (unsweetened), metrios (medium-sweet), glykos (sweet) and vary glykos (extra-sweet).

However, if you prefer a creamier option, you can enjoy a Greek coffee frappe, which is typically served with or without milk, depending on personal preference. A Greek frappe is made with instant coffee, shaken or blended to create a frothy texture and can be customised with milk for a smoother taste.
