When people in ancient Greece used carob seeds to measure the weight of gold, no one could imagine that after thousands of years, the word "carat" derived from the word "keration" meaning carob in ancient Greek, would continue to be used as the global unit for gold weight measurement.
Carob often referred to as "the cocoa of the ancient Greeks", and since then has been a healthy substitute for chocolate, having 60% less calories, no fats and so much more fibre. Today, carob which flourishes and is abundantly available in the southern Greek island of Crete, travels to northern Greece as a raw ingredient, blends with P.D.O. Corinthian raisins, and produces a healthy, delicious and highly nutritional snack for the whole family. A classic Greek cookie that can be enjoyed by itself, with your coffee or your favourite hot drink.
Carob is a "superfood" as it is rich in carbohydrates and proteins, while it contains almost no fat. It is rich in natural fibre, vitamin A and B vitamins. Studies have shown that food enrichment with the insoluble carob fibre helps lower cholesterol and at the same time improves bowel function.

We currently only ship to Australia, however we will be expanding internationally in the near future.
Our returns policy last 14 days and to be eligible for a return, the item must be unused and in its original packaging with a receipt or proof of purchase.
Perishable goods such as food and flowers cannot be returned. We only replace items if they are defective or damaged. If you need to exchange it for the same item, send us an email at info@grecianpurveyor.com.
